Back in June, I attended the marvelous “Agents and Editors Conference,” hosted by the Writers League of Texas (@WritersLeague). I learned a lot—including that my novel needs a lot more work before it’s “ready for prime time.” I took the summer off to get some perspective and to cogitate on how I want to proceed. Now it’s time to get back to work!
In the meantime: I have several works (a poem, a short story, and three photos, including the cover) coming out on October 1 in “Through Layered Limestone: a Texas Hill Country anthology of place,” published by the Patrick Heath Public Library in Boerne. You can order a copy here.
Finally: don’t miss the upcoming Boerne Book and Arts Festival on Saturday, October 5 at Boerne’s Main Plaza. There’s a full day of panel discussions, activities, exhibitors, and more. Special guests include Stephen Harrigan @stephenharrigan , author of the new book of Texas history “Big Wonderful Thing,” and Tammie Jo Shults @captainshults , author of the upcoming “Nerves of Steel.” Anthology authors (myself included) will be reading selections from “Through Layered Limestone.”
That’s all she wrote…….Laura
